Refinished Bentwood for my Centennial 201K4

Today I completed refinishing a bentwood case for my Centennial Singer 201K4. See attached pics.

Here's a high level....

Test the finish to see what will disolve it. This one tested to be lacquer or some sort of varnish (not shellac). I used lacquer thinner to remove the finish.

Note: wear the correct type of gloves and do this in a well ventilated area.

1) tape off the decal
2) strip old lacquer off with lacquer thinner and a green scotchbrite pad (once it's liquified wipe off with paper towels).
3) remove tape over decal
4) with lacquer thinner on a q-tip work around the decal.
5) Once the old top coat was removed I sprayed walnut toned lacquer to bring back some of the warm tones and make the grain pop. This also helps even out some of the different wood tones.
6) Clear coat with clear lacquer.

Wow is right! Cannot believe how beautiful the wood now looks. You did a great job for sure. Did you also refurbish the top of that table (Featherweight table?) that this machine is sitting on? It too shines!

No, I have not refinished that 301 short bed card table.
