Removing plug unit from plastic cases
 

I am getting ready to pretty paint another plastic case but am dreading trying to remove the electrical plug unit. Does anyone have a way to do this easily? I have a way but it isn't easy. :(Wondering if I am missing a way to utilize the open slots on the under side?

Nevermind, I popped it up fairly easily using a huge screwdriver.;)

That's what I was going to recommend. I just did that on my MW machine so I could clean the base.

I am going to share something that I don't usually share. I was around three years old and I was given a toy that scared the heck out of me and I hated playing with it and only did it when I think the people that bought it for me wanted to see me play with it. Kind of blocked it all out of mind all of these years.

Well popping up the electrical unit does the same thing to me!! I hate it...

The horrible scary toy was a Jack In The Box. Interesting how some childhood experiences can stay with a person. To this day I intensely dislike clowns and avoid them like the plague.

I am interested in how you go about painting the plastic case?? Doesn't the paint chip off???

Some spray paints work fine on plastic. I've painted a plastic trash can and it worked out fine.

I am careful to buy the paints from Home Depot that specifically say they can be used on plastic. Then after I get the case all painted I wait until it sun bakes for a day and then I spray it with several coats of clear sealer sun baking between coats. A colorful fabric or leather handle wrap with snaps could be added to the handle because the most wear would probably be the handle.
