Thanks for all the welcomes and well-wishes. I am curious as to how Pfaff owners (of this era) use their machines to replace zippers, specifically on a moderately-thick coat. Are there adapters available, or do you simply use a proprietary Pfaff foot?

The reason I'm asking is, I don't know much about low shank feet vs. high shank (I know this is a low version), and have a couple of zipper feet (60's era) that I was hoping might work.

Welcome. That is a beautiful well card for machine. As long as it's kept well maintained it should serve you well.

If you look at my Avatar, you will see my Pfaff 262. It is just like yours plus the dials on top for embroidery stitches. I am the original owner of mine, bought in 1968 and I will never sell it! They are fabulous work horses.

Welcome from central New York State! I am a Pfaff addict, have three at the moment, oldest one is from 1979. I guess that's not considered vintage. I've never had a drop of trouble with it except for the needle threader and bobbin winder which we fixed both here at home. It looks beautiful and I'm sure you will love it!
