Roosevelt Davis
 

Did anyone else see the beautiful Davis treadle in the 2nd episode of Ken Burns' The Roosevelts on PBS? It's a brief picture while the film describes a gorgeous red and green painted "cabin" of Franklin & Eleanor's.

I noticed the machine too. I wondered how much she actually used it.

Yes, and my gang all were excited that my machine was on tv. Except mine is a White. I have some work to do with them in understanding that not all treadles are the same! I wish they would have showed a close up or it. I doubt it got used by her -- she didn't even watch her own babies so something as domesticated as sewing would be left to the help, I imagine.
