Do you mean in Muv's video? I think she said it sews with the handwheel going counter clockwise, and reverse is controlled by the stitch length lever (just like the later Singers). If the handwheel goes in the wrong direction you'll get a thread nest.

I have a call into a local museum homestead that's supposed to have one in the collection. The local parks person said there were several sewing machines out there but he didn't know what they were. Ah ha! I have talked to the lovely lady who works out there. She's going to confirm the machine and possibly get us pictures and video of it's operation. She doesn't plan on being out at the house until the end of the month but she's going to call some people that might know or might be going out there sooner.
