So, this machine has sat for about a week. It's an ELGIN with a full compliment of cams. It looks similar to the DRESSMAKER I found and posted about previously. It's only 7.99.

WHAT DO I DO!?

Is it a worthwhile buy? Should I go ahead and have the Touch N Sew repaired or do it myself? (SINGER 630 TnS needs new gears, I have them and all but one cam and all attachments save for one or two.) Which is simply the better zig zag machine...aka...which is the better machine? I want to start some beginner garment construction and I want to zig and zag to my hearts content.

What's wrong with having both of them? LOL I can't resist them.

Elgin should be a good machine. Try to do the gears yourself on the T&S and if it works use them both until you fall in love with one of them. Get rid of the one you don't use.

I'd get it. Having the cams with it is a big plus. $7.99 will only buy a 6 pack of decent beer these days. I would get that much entertainment out of it just getting it cleaned up and running.
