Saved from being a boat anchor----

1 Attachment(s)
I bought this at a antique shop and the guy called it a boat anchor-----for $25-----It is a Minnesota Model D hand crank-----sold by Sears from 1900-1910---according to Issmacs----all parts are there and move (slowly) It is really dirty and I have my work cut out for me-----including some wood gluing on the carved case and cleaning. Any suggestions? I love it anyway----even if the store guy thought it should be used for an anchor......

It's lovely... escpecially the carving on the case. Wow!! (My dad owns a marina and that's much prettier than any boat anchor I ever saw.)

Nice!! I'd have surely had that one as an "anchor" on my machine desk!! :)

I want a 'boat anchor' and have been telling everyone I know locally about wanting one. I wonder if I'll find one soon. After seing what everyone on the Vintage machines site has done with them, I want to try my hand at one too. I love the carving on your case. Good luck!!

Oh what a lovely anchor. And you'll have her sewing beautiful stitches before you can click your ruby slippers and say, 'you've found a loving home'. Congratulations.... and enjoy the work ahead!

Beautiful, and so proud of you for saving her, what a shame for her not to be admired for what she is..
