Is this the serial number?

I have a Singer 99K and am trying to find the serial number. I found a plate at the base of the machine that says "EK030669" and on the back is has this "SS AU523024". Is either a serial number? If not, where do I look? Do I take it out of the case and look underneath? It's a snug fit in the case and I don't want to take it out unless I have to and I have to if the serial number is there. I know this machine isn't anything great, but it's the only old machine I could afford and I got it serviced and I love it. I would like to know a little info on it by using the serial number. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the "EK030669" is the serial number. I'm not sure what the other one is.

the other one on "the back" is likely the catalog number or something from the motor. I often see Machines on E-bay that list the number from the motor as either a model or serial number of the machine.

December 1954 is when your serial number was allotted, so your machine was most likely manufactured in 1955.
