Sewmor collection
6 Attachment(s)
Well, so far my machine acquisitions has been a bit hodge podge. A little of this brand, a bit of that brand, and singles of several brands, with the majority being Singers, Kenmores and Sewmors.
But in the midst of all this I've suddenly realized I have an actual brand name collection blooming. So just for the fun of it here is my Sewmor collection so far: Sewmor 202, Full Size, 15 clone ( not here yet ) Attachment 447898 Sewmor 303, 3/4 size, aluminum, Singer 99K-10 clone. Attachment 447899 Sewmor 404, Full size, Black 15 - 66 hybrid clone Attachment 447900 Sewmor 404, Full size, Silver 15 - 66 hybrid clone Attachment 447901 Sewmor 505, 3/4 size, aluminum - not sure what this one is a clone of, if anything Attachment 447902 Sewmor 606, Full Size Attachment 447903 I'm also watching a Sewmor 900 ZZ machine. I'm not sure why these Sewmor machines seem to attract me, but I do like them and they sew nice. The old saying goes: One's a find, two's a coincidence, three's a collection. Joe |
Beautiful machines and nice collection. When you say "clone" does that mean they are re-badged machines or made similar to the machine they are a clone of?
|
ragquilter,
I'm sure Sewmor machines are badged machines. But yes, the term clone does mean a machine similar to or a copy of say a Singer Mdl 15 or what ever model. Joe |
The 606 is calling to me. I love the spool holder, its the first one I have seen like that.
|
SunflowerZZ,
I've seen two of them on shopgoodwill.com. I got this one from Miriam. Joe |
Those are all nice looking machines.
|
Nice collection Joe. You already mentioned the 303 to me. The 303 and 505 are going on my "watch for" list. I like the little portables and unless I get real lucky somehow the featherweights are way over my budget.

My Sewmor 202 (Blue) is one of the Few electric machines i have left.. It needs a new home.... hehehe
|
All pretty, but I love the silver one!
|
Well now I can see I need to check out the Sewmor! I have by pass them in the past. Thanks Joe now I know I will be bring another brand in!!! Very nice machines you have there!
|
Nice collection! I think my favorite is the little 505. What does it mean to be badged? I thought it meant that the manufacturer put someone else's name on the machine instead of its own. Does it actually mean that a manufacturer made a number of different "brands" or names -- same machines with different names?

My Sewmor 606. It looks rather like a Necchi, sort of. She is a great stitcher.

Many manufacturers made sewing machines for other companies. Those were labeled or badged for the retail outlet or company that distributed them. For instance the 158 series of Kenmore machines was made by Maruzen / Jaguar and badged as Kenmores. My mom's old HOTHER 15 clone ( see my avatar pic ) was made by JUKI. Lots and lots of that went on after WW II. Joe |
Caroline,
Your 606 is different than my 606. I'll have to keep my eyes open for one like yours. Joe |

Rodney One big reason I like the 303 and 505 is they are 3/4 size machines rather 1/2 size like the Feather Weights. Yet they don't weigh much. They really don't weigh any more than the FW yet are bigger and stronger. Joe |

SunflowerZZ,
I know what you mean. I try to buy from the locations with the cheaper shipping if I can. But sometimes I get that stubborn streak going and I bid anyway. Joe |

Some of those products are made to spec and are unique to that brand (like Kenmore and many store brands). Some importers have their own brand with unique products made to their specs which they sell to multiple retailers. Do we consider all those products badged? Some of your Sewmors look unique to me in that I haven't seen them with another name. |

Thanks for sharing, Joe. Love that little 505!

I’ve got 5 Sewmor parts machines, a 202, 3 606s, and a 999B.

I like the looks of that 999B. I'll have to add that model to my collection some day.
Joe |
They are beautiful machines, thanks for showing us your collection.

CD,
The only part I need for any of the Sewmors is an OEM slide plate for the 303. Same one as the 404 uses. I used an aftermarket one on it and it isn't really right. I think they cut the groves wrong, the plate keeps popping off when it's opened to replace the bobbin. Joe |
Hello,
I have happened across a Sewmor 900 machine in good condition. Would anyone happen to have knowledge on this particular make? All replies are helpful. Cheers, Evan |
if you would make your request more specific we could maybe help you better. Welcome aboard.

To all the Sewmor experts. I have inherited a sewmor machine and cannot work out what model it is despite hours and hours of research.
It has a sew-tric motor and foot pedal. It has the sewmor logo and it only says " De Luxe " . It is green/blue There is a knob for embroidery, silk and normal. It works ! Although not a sewer I have enjoyed doing the research about the various makes of machines. I have taken some photos but cannot work out how to upload them to this posting. Do I use the image icon ? Many thanks. Dublin, Ireland |
These are beautiful machines! A very nice collection. DH ask me all the time "Why" do I need another sewing machine and the answer is always "because". Thanks for sharing.

Use "Go Advanced" and then use the paperclip. After the new window opens, click the square icon on the top right upper edge so that is opens to full screen. The "Upload button is on the far right, and you can't see it in the smaller sized window.

Thank you so much for taking the time to advise me how I could upload my photos. I have managed to put two up and will try to put a few more up. I appreciate the help. Deirdre
My usual response is: We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. I have found that only the big red "reply" button works to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures. Additionally, when I have tried to "insert" pictures, it will take a while even if it is just one picture, after clicking on the paperclip icon. (This is after you have hit the "Upload" button and closed that window.) You will see the "busy" icon at the top of the page or tab spinning for a while before it list the pictures that it will attach. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
If you are having trouble uploading pic, try going to the QB Help forum for help. Sometimes it depends on what type of device you are using.
