It sews!

wow, threaded up the old 103 and first time out I think I got it right, used the heavy cotton that was on the bobbin and mounted a spool of HEAVY nylon (#69) on the top and spun her over by hand. Formed nice ( though not perfectly balanced) stitches in a couple pieces of light material I had around. Talk about effortless. just spin the wheel with one finger ( machine is just sitting on the counter ) and it sews. Quietly and powerfully. I think I am going to like this one. IF I was going to use this thread combination I would have to tighten up the bobbin tension some, but since I am not I am going to fore go adjustment until I get a spool stand set up and get her mounted in the table with a real bobbin winder. until then I am thrilled!

Very nice...... I can think of several projects I have using some heavier material..... always a boat cover to repair or a lawn chair to fix up here in the woods. But, we want to see a picture of the machine.
