Singer 15-125 conundrum
I found a beautiful mint green 15-125 several months ago for $10 without a cord. I didn't think it would be too hard to find a cord. As luck would have it, I found another one, complete with a cord and foot pedal at Goodwill for again $10. Now, here is the problem. They are both AM serial numbers from the March 8 1956 birth....but they are not identical twins. The newest find has the foot pedal hard wired onto the machine. The older one only has a receptacle for a cord. So my question....is there a combination cord/foot pedal available for these?? Should I attempt to hardwire the newly acquired foot petal. Thanks in advance for your help. Marilyn P.S. I am having difficulty attaching a photo of the machines.....I am better are sewing than computering!!

Does your cord receptacle look like the one on the right? sorry it is cut off a bit. |
You could hard wire it but you don't have to. Get this cord set -

I don't know if it is any help or not, but I found this pdf that seems to indicate that the difference between a 15-125 and a 15-126 is the wiring harness. Is it possible that one is a 125 and the other is a 126?

Yes. Thank you. I am so curious as to why these two machines are wired different. They don't appear that they have been 'tampered' with. Thanks again. M

Thank you. I didn't even think to check out my pedal/power cords from my FW and 301. They work perfectly...except they're black. OK....something new to hunt for!!

Thank you Janey. Interesting. It appears by the parts manual that the 15-126 was for schools. I think you might be onto something. There is next to no information online about the 15-126, that I can find. Thanks again.

I've never heard of a 126 either. Learn something new every day.
