Singer 15K110 RAF

I picked this up this weekend and am curious about some of the details. The serial number is under the bed, not on a plate. It has a drop feed knob on top of the bed. The serial number is listed on ISAMCS site as a 15K110 and the description fits except for the chrome hand wheel. The decals are in good condition. ISMACS mentions the RAF decals were from 1935-1950's. This serial number was issued in 1961.

Could it be a repro?

SAME AS THIS THREAD...

Except a little different. Cathy's 15 is obviously an earlier model. Look at the stitch length mechanism, the badge, the serial number is on the bed and there is no drop feed knob on the bed.

The 15 must be the model with the greatest number of variations. Some were industrial, some had reverse, some thread left to right, different bobbins etc etc.
I now have three of them. Two are from 1910 and one from 1886 and they're so different I doubt there would be many interchangeable parts.
The 1886 model's cabinet won't fit any other machine, not even other 15s!

Yes the 15s can be very different. I have been meaning to make a new thread on that since I think I have decades of different 15s around and they did make changes.

How about "What 15 do I have?"
<-- Thought I'd kick it off with a new avatar

Nice avatar. Got any other pictures of that machine?

Yes, and I have to thank fellow QB member Frudemoo for it (she gave me this machine).

Wow. That machine. Niiiiice. So I take it Frudemoo is your new best friend?? LOL! It's really striking.

Yes. I would love to see a thread on which 15 do I have? There have been so many changes and I am sure I only know the tip of the iceberg. When I first saw Cathy's post on her RAF 15, I was already checking out the one I eventually bought and there are so many differences I started thinking this one was a fake!

She's been near the top of the list for a while.
The machine sews perfectly too. My guess is it hadn't been used for decades, but after a clean and oil it was like a new one. This machine is very original, hasn't been re-done in any way, just kept nice by the nuns (seriously, nuns). Had a model 66 HC, but I've removed it and am in the process of putting on a motor and singerlight. Just too hard to position fabric with one hand.
