Which Singer 201, 66 or 15?

I would like to purchase a vintage Singer for quilting my larger quilts as my machine I use for piecing does not have a large enough harp space. Does anyone have any recommendations or preferences amongst the 210, 15 or 66?

The Singer 15-91 is really nice for quilting. The bobbins are large so less bobbin reloading. The bobbin case is also in the vertical position, vs the 201 or 66 where the bobbin is in the horizontal drop-in position. The thread has one less 90° angle, which some quilters say effect their tension. I quilt on my 15-91 and love it, but my MIL quilting on her 201-2 and never has a problem. The 201 and 66 harp size is a tad bigger than the 15, by one inch. The old Singers make beautiful stitches and are really rather fun to FMQ on.

I have a 15-91, 201, 66 electric, 66 treadle and a 301, that being said my favorite is the 15-91 for FMQ. I am partial to vertical bobbins, not everyone is. I agree with NZquilter all the old Singers make beautiful stitches and I prefer them over my modern machines, a Janome and a Brother. Good Luck on whatever machine you decide on.

The Singer 15 is easier to clean out a thread knot in the bobbin area. Otherwise they are all good.
