that is my dream to own a 201. I have heard so much about them. Mine will come along one day :)

I have a 201k hand crank/treadle, I prefer using it as a treadle. Easier to wind bobbins. It was made in 1936, its a wonderful machine, so quiet and sews a beautiful stitch.

The feed dogs will drop (large knob, lever system underneath the machine) so that you can free motion quilt. I got this machine free and it sews so much better than my Janome 6500 which cost me $2000 new. It powers through anything that I put in front of it including zippers in heavy duc coveralls.

I love my 201. Just got it last month and am on my second quilt already. Spent the entire weekend on it.
Now that I know how to drop the feed dogs, I can do even more with it.
