Found one with cabinet for $15. Are these nice machines?

The 306 is a nice machine. It's the same machine as the 319 except it does not have the internal cams and the top mounted levers to work them. It uses the flat cams.

It also uses the 206-13 needle and the "L" type bobbins as the 319.

For $15.00 I wouldn't be asking if it was a nice machine, I'd be bragging about what I just brought home for such a great price.

+1 They (all Swing Needle 206/306/319) are a little odd to work with at first, but interesting machines. I have one of each. That brown crinkle paint is the worst thing to get the grime off of, though. I sold the brown crinkle 306 and kept the black one.

I second Joe's statement about dragging it home. Even if you hate it, it would be worth the money to play with it for a while:> I have a 319 and it's not high on my list of favorites but it's still fun to have.

Thanks for the input. It came with the user manual and a box of stuff that I need to investigate.

I had one with a crinkle finish that took cams, didn't use it much, and traded it in on a 306 collector's machine, which I still don't use. I guess that tells me what part of the herd to thin! $15 is a great price, especially with cabinet.
