Singer 368 Fashion - I need advice on replacing shaft gears
 

Hi everyone,

I need help with replacing shaft gears on my Singer 368 Fashion sewing machine.
I got it recently, and after a few fine works, the gears broke (I understood it is common with old plastic). I managed to disassemble most of it, but I have a problem with the horizontal gear.

I'm sorry that I'm no help. I've torn down machines with plastic gears, but haven't actually replaced any. Have you tried youtube.com for helpful hints?

I’m working on replacing a gear right now! If I don’t get it right, I will have to take it to Mister Taylor, my local (sew n vac) repair man. It wouldn’t be the first time i’ve Taken him a baggie of machine parts. He knows that I like to tinker!

Funny - on my workbench I have a 368 in the same condition as yours, that is, mostly parts that I have removed trying to get to the gear. I also am trying to replace the top gear and am having the same issue as you. I have sent several emails to repair sites, but no luck yet. If you hear something, please let me know and I will do the same for you.
