Hubby was home over the weekend & wanted to go to the flea market. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but out of the corner of my eye I caught site of this little gem. It had a price tag of $25, but I paid him $20. Hubby rewired the motor & it works! Needs some restoring & TLC, but a nice find at a great price! Can't wait to sew on it! Had to get hold of Singer to date it. It's a 1953, the year my brother was born!

You did well! A 66 was my daily machine for quite a while. They're nice machines.

The table looks older than 1953 though? Never mind, the table is very nice, I like it a lot. The later model 66 is nice too, it has the reverse lever. It's a smooth quiet stitcher. I see you have a dog too, from feed sack and the bowl on the kitchen floor. It's not unlike my kitchen :- )

Nice find and a real bargain. Happy sewing.

This machine has reverse, it has a lever instead of the knob.

I'd guess the cabinet is the same age as the machine. There are some siginficant differences between the later ones and the older ones. This one does not have a lift assist, and if there is no support bar for the flap, then it's likely this one is suppose to have the front door fully open to provide support for that flap (since you'd need it open to sew) so be careful having it open without the door to support it - the hinges can easily get sprung on these - or the screws start pulling out.

I think you've got a real nice machine and cabinet there!

Great find! we cleaned and rewired the same machine/cabinet for my MIL as a Christmas present last year and she loves it! Her machine has the Godzilla finish and looked so cute under the Christmas tree with a big red bow on it! Enjoy your machine!
