Singer 95-10 Bobbin Hook Issues Help Please!!
 

Hello everyone! Recently picked up this singer 95-10 and just got around to cleaning it up. I disassembled most of it and got it all back together without any issues except for the bobbin hook is pulling the top thread behind the whole mechanism tangling it up. I've messed with it for quite a while now and I figured someone here may know more about it than I do. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I'm not into industrial machines, so not much help. According to http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mach...sses-1-99.html it is a high speed industrial machine with a rotary hook.

I also noted that it uses a 88x1 needle. Since it is a round shank needle, it can be fiddly to place properly. From my understanding if it is a little off, it can cause problems. I think I used a Kenmore needle threader to insert the needle in my Junker and Ruh machine.

With a rotary hook, sometimes the finger that holds the hook in place is pushed in too far, and the thread can't get past the finger. The finger is where the red arrow is, and the screw to loosen it is where the blue arrow is. The idea is to have it pushed in just enough to hold the hook in place, but only barely. Also, the finger can sometimes get a burr or rough spot on it that can be polished off with a very fine sandpaper (about 400 to 600 grit).

Thank you guys for the input!! I ended up figuring it out and I took that whole assembly apart. The rod was pushed up against the area where the thread passes behind the bobbin so I took the grease cup off of the other end of the rod, loosened the set screw in the gear and pounded the rod a couple millimeters further in, back in working order!
