A Singer Deluxe 7025 and a BL XR-31

A Singer Deluxe 7025 and a BL XR-31 were waiting for me last week at the Thrifty and Nifty shop! I wanted to have a few extra machines for a beginners class I am teaching later this month and so for $4 each I decided to bring them home. Both work but are rather noisy. My DH is willing to try to clean and oil them. Is anyone familiar with them? Were they even worth the $4 or did I get a steal?

Not sure if either of them is considered vintage but I think this is the best forum. Any information or sites we can go to is greatly appreciated. We have internet but can't stream so anything we can download would be best.
TIA

I couldn't find anything on the BL XR-31.
You should be able to get a manual for the Singer at https://www.singer.com/support
I'm not sure, but maybe it is similar to the 5808C and some others. I had a 5808 that I gave my neice a couple of years ago. She doesn't really sew, but I thought she should have this one. I did some mending with it and some practice stitches as shown below. I don't know about the longevity of them, but should work for a while.

Just realized the machine is a Brother, not a BL. Does anyone have a mannual?

I just checked the Brother website. They changed the site again, and every time they do they take more of the older manuals down. I was able to find the service manual for your machine but not the user manual. How dumb is that? I would call or email Brother, they may still be able to get it for you.
