Singer featherweight - what did you pay for your?
 

I got a 1969 white FW at a pawn shop for $230. Took it to be serviced at a cost of $100 ( it needed a new foot pedal). I absolutely love that machine. I saw a 1940 FW at a garage sale today for $300. It had lots of attachments, but one of the latches on the case was broken. I asked the lady if she would take any less, and she said she was pretty firm on the price - it had been her grandmother's and she was really debating whether or not to sell it. I told her I totally understood. She asked for my name and number, which i gave her. She's moving across the country in May, so she may come down on the price as she nears her move. I don't really it, but I rationalized that I could give my white FW to my grand daughter.
So what did you pay for your FW?

I paid 275 for mine with shipping. Love my little FW. My grandson made a lap size one for himself and he had a blast. I guess he sleeps with it and I helped him make a small pillow to go with it.

I have two, I paid $225.00 for my first one a 1936 model. I'm always looking on Craigslist for vintage Singer's and saw a posting for a vintage portable Singer for $100. It turned out to be a 1955 Featherweight--it was in perfect condition--needless to say I bought it. I love both of them--I want to pass these on to my granddaughters--I have three. I'm on the lookout for another one if the price is right.

I paid 250.00 with shipping on 2 of my black FW's, one was a 1936, the other was a Centennial quite a few attachments with both. I also paid 100.00 for another Centennial (1851-1951) with no box or attachments. White FW's go for a lot more than you paid! Good job! I would keep the white one and give GS the black one.

I paid $195 for my 1947. A man had it listed on ebay but he hopelessly misspelled 'featherweight'. I don't even remember how I came across it but absolutely no one bid against me! It's a gem.

I have seven of them and have paid between $250. for two to $350. for on. I have a white one that I love and only paid$225.00 for it. You just have to keep your eyes open and whala you fine one.

$280 + shipping for mine. I've never regretted spending that money. Love my FW!

My first one with the case and the attachments including the darning foot in the original box was $150.00 and my second one with the case a gazillion bobbins most of the attachments and the elusive card table was $100.00. Neither one I paid for shipping for. One is a 1949 and the other is 1952. I am not a FW fan so I wasn't about to pay the price but when these fell into my lap ....... Now if it was a 301 in a card table.....

$25 in a garage sale.

Mine was gifted to me by my parents in 1959. It is a Centennial. I wish I knew what they paid for it then. I am assuming it was used since they bought it in 1959 and it was a 1951 model.
