Singer Golden Touch and Sew 620

I got this for free a few years ago and when I was going to tune it up some plastic gears broke. There is a major part in the bobbin area that is broken too and I just don't want to mess with it.

I am trying to decide if I should throw it out or see if anyone needs parts?

I have the accessories and the manuals too.

Thoughts?

Thank you for reading.

I just picked up a 500 without any accessories, presser feet or needle plate, so I would be interested. Hopefully they should fit the Rocketeer. It’s a shame how those nylon gears fail with age, rendering a nice machine useless. I’ll try to send you a PM.

The accessories and feet should fit any slant shank machine. Both machines use the same needle plate, part # 172200.

Those singer touch n sews weren’t very good machines as the plastic gears broke all the time. Machine not worth anything to fix my mom dumped hers after she took the parts that fit another machine she had

There were lemons to be sure, but many of the TnS's were very good machines and continue to be good machines. The gears lasted 50-60 years, not bad for a piece of plastic under load all the time. There are replacement gears if someone loves their machine enough to keep it going. The replacements will last at least as long as the originals, there are metal replacements for some of them. But yes, some of them deserve nothing more than a sledge hammer. I've seen it happen.
