I have 7 machine accessories, for my tredle singer sewing machine, but have no idea what they would be used for. Can anyone tell me what they are called and what would they be used for?

I believe #6 is a ruffler, sorry the pic is not very good for this one.

oxonchris 01-07-2014 09:41 AM

1 = Quilter, 2 = Narrow Hemmer, 3 = Binder, 4 = ?, 5 = Adjustable Hemmer, 6 = Ruffler, 7 = Tuck Marker.

This may help http://edsmum.wordpress.com/2010/11/...dentification/

this should give you all the info you need to id what they are.

1. quilting foot with guide
2. narrow hemmer
3. binder
4. shirring plate
5. adjustable hemmer
6. ruffler
7. tucker

Using the attachments should be covered in your manual, if you have one. If not, let us know what model you have (post a picture) and someone can probably tell you where you can get a manual. There are also other books that covered the use of attachments like Singer's "Student Handbook".

sorry oxonchris, I got sidetracked and did not refresh before posting...I see you offered the same info as I did.

Macybaby is the QUEEN of attachments, give a shout out to her.

miriam 01-07-2014 11:29 AM

just about ANY older Singer manual should tell what they are and how to use the attachments.

Macybaby 01-07-2014 12:03 PM

I think others have this covered

Your right. I just looked at a Singer manual I picked up at a flea market I t is Singer manuf Co Attachments Style # 11 for a No 27 sewing machine. it shows each attachment and how to use it.
I bought it knowing someone will by it from me someday. What is a NO 27? is that a tredle?

Macybaby 01-08-2014 05:09 AM

BTW - the underbraider is that piece that is stuck in the tucker (7) This is a set for a VS machine (27/28 or 127/128) . Other than the underbraider and shirr plate, the other pieces fit on most Singers.

This one has been 'updated' It was repainted, new tension put on, new smaller hand wheel and a motor. Thayerags made a post about conversions, too.
It takes the same attachments as a Singer Featherweight...

Macybaby, I cannot thank you enough for all the information you have provided to me this date. I appreciate your time and assistance in this matter.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread, as usual the folks on this forum, came thru for me once again.
Have a great day!

Some treadles are just that, some have been motorized, all have a "vibrating shuttle", which is the old long, bullet-looking bobbin case and the bobbin is a long skinny one that goes into that shuttle.
