Singer model 20 sew handy child's machine??

I am thinking of purchasing a child's sew handy model 20 vintage machine. Just because I love it. But I don't want someone to Take advantage of me. What should I look for. What parts should be there. What do you think is a reasonable price? I've seen Prices range from $50 to $250. Some are black some are tan.

I dont have enough knowledge to purchase on eBay or in Internet stores. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What questions do I ask?

Are there dealers out there who won't cheat me?

Thanks do much for your help!

Best way to get a feel for the market search ebay under sold listing for "Singer 20 Toy sewing machine". I didn't notice any free manuals in a quick search but if you get an idea how it works, you can see and understand what's missing or broken. No personal experience with toy machines but I am currently tinkering with a Willcox & Gibbs Chainstitcher which is the stitch made by the Singer 20. Good Luck.

Prices on the machines vary by the vintage also. The first ones out will be more expensive than the more recent ones. Do some research to find info on what you are thinking of buying. There are several good sites that explain the differences and what to look for. You will pay more for one that includes the original box, manual and needles. There are fakes out there also, so be careful. I have several of these that I have collected over the years - I had one as a child with a motor in a case that I made small items on, so had to replace that one and the collection began.
