Singer models: want 'more control'.....
The other day I posted that I was thinking of switching out my 301's foot controller for the newer style electronic foot control.
I have two reasons for wanting to do this: 1. After a fair amount of FMQ'ing, the foot control gets warm. 2. The button on the foot control and I don't always agree what speed I'm asking for. :) Well, today I ran across this video that shows the change in speed control on a Singer 201, comparing the original foot control versus the newer electronic style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id6DOszHbwA I guess I'm going forward with the foot control swap. |
Thanks for passing this video on...I have a couple of machines that go from slow to mega fast.

Good link, thanks.

I did this a couple of weeks ago. I keep one electronic pedal that works for most of the machines in the house, so I can switch off. It's great for the Applique and FMQ type stuff, or even just if you want a different feeling pedal. I had a guy come look at a machine this weekend too that said that the carbon pile resistor feet (like our button pedals) also reduce the amount of power to the machine as a whole, and the electronics don't do this as much. There -may- be a power gain (piercing power) as well with the machines, but I haven't tested enough yet.
