Singer Red Eye 66? missing foot

1 Attachment(s)
I finally have someone here beside me who is going to teach me how to do pictures to the forum. I have previously mentioned that I bought this Singer Red Eye before I realized that it didn't have the foot--and it is a weird one.

Here is the picture, as best we could get it to come up.

The older 66's took what they call "back clamping" presser feet.

It also looks like it is missing the set screw in the side that secures the clamp part to the presser bar.

Yes it is a back clamp foot machine.

However the thumb screw and mount for the feet and accessories is there, it's the needle clamp and screw that's missing.

Yes, the thumbscrew and mount are obviously there, but in the photo provided, the set screw that secures the mount to the presser bar is missing.

Thanks, you two. I got up early this morning to see if my post had been seen yet. It has.....and already has suggestions on what I need to be looking for. I'll keep watching while I am trying to finish up getting ready for the Christmas onslaught from kids and grandkids. I'm a woman; I can do both. Just having the ability to post pictures to the forum is enough of a Christmas present for me; it took about four of us to do this. The one I had here beside me didn't make the pointer go from one area to the next like a streak of lightning--she actually showed me where to put the arrow with my mouse, and then waited while the various screens came up. YAY........

The back clamp foot indicates you have an early Redeye. The later ones take the much more common low shank feet. I'm not sure when the change took place though. Be patient. Back clamp feet do show up occasionally.

Yep, the set screw is missing. A case of not seeing the obvious, my bad.

The needle clamp and screw shouldn't be that hard to find.
The back clamp feet are out there. You just have to hunt them down. And I've found there is at least two versions of them too.

Well I been perusing the web looking for shuttles and I came across this page:
{ http://www.bonanza.com/booths/sousew...m_sort_options[custom_category_id]=366901&item_sort_options[per_page]=48 }
Lots of 66-1 parts including feet and the presser foot holder with screws.

Thanks, Joe, I am finally taking a moment to cruise around on my computer--I wrote down all that stuff to go to, and will be trying it out. Maybe I'll also find a motor for the 201 (I think) that we burned out last Fall. Is that a potted motor, or have I got to go back and try to find where I posted about that machine?????
