Speaking of green machines!

A vintage Consew. Expensive, but pretty in its way! (http://charlotte.craigslist.org/for/3261876511.html)

Overpriced I would say!!

Does the Table it sitting on come with it. That is expensive all by its self. But $350.00 is still high.

Those are sought after by sewers that do car/boat upholstery, I have heard that's the brand they look for.

If you only knew - that is an excellent deal. The price has dropped - used to be $800 was as good as you could get.

Personally, I think it's a good deal...industrials are expensive!

you are right - getting them worked on is expensiver... ask me how I know - I learned to work on machines because I had industrials...

I agree as well. Not bad pricing at all. I learned to sew on one of these when I was about 6! My mom still has one that I would use. When I bought my first domestic, I was so disappointed with the slow speed in comparison to the industrial!

Charlotte CL is always a laugh in the sewing machine department. I saw one a couple of weeks ago for $700 and a few days later one for $400, just older singer machines nothing special. I usually look everyday for a laugh and hoping someone here lives in reality. I blame these storage war shows for the prices people think this stuff is worth now.

the table is probably a couple hundred if you need a new one - the motor is $$$ and the head is worth something.... break it down - it is worth it and if it is what you are looking for... - then parts are not cheap for those machines...
I agree - there are some way out there 'finds' on CL - do you know we have an ongoing thread about it? I doubt if the stuff at the start is still there - but feel free to join in the fun: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...g-t174801.html - you might like to start in the back and see how far you go toward the top... stuff gets removed from CL after a while - it's still a lot of fun.
