Speed Control on a Singer 15-91

I'm doing okay attempting to FMQ on my 15-91. But I was wondering if I can gain better speed control if I change the foot pedal controller from the original one. And if yes, what do I replace it with?

Yes, I think you could get better control with a different foot. Here's the replacement foot we regularly use at the shop: FOOT CONTROL Singer 1116 2662 with 771 cord -- part #072963 ($33.90). Another one, without the cord: part #6092FC -- FOOT CONTROL Electronic Large ($31.80). They're both plastic, so don't add to the beauty of the machine. But they work pretty good.

Thank you.

I do all of my FM on a 15-91 with the original pedal with no speed problems. But I did have to replace the pedal on my 301 with a generic electronic pedal and it is easy to control the speed. If your original pedal is giving you problems, by all means, replace it.
