I've seen that type of stamping on my 1912 New Home. So I'm guessing we might be talking about that era. The tension is very unusual. What type of needles does it take?

Cute little machine. I saw two at the North Carolina ISMACS convention back in 2009. According to NeedleBar they were made from after WWII until around 1953/54. NeeleBar also says they were all that well made, nor does do they sew all that well.

I've heard that the Taylor Bird machines don't sew very well. I think I saw it on Alex Askaroff's website.
