Welcome to QB. From my understanding the Taylor Professional was made in Europe and is the same machine as the Singer Stylist 834. I'm wondering if the timing got knocked out of wack. There is a service manual for the 800 Series. One place is https://store.tandtrepair.com/sm-513.html I personally haven't dealt with them, but others have and recommend.

Terry at T&T is great! He's very knowledgeable about Singer machines. He's in American Samoa, so there's a significant time difference.

Congratulations. Thank you for letting us know that it is fixed. Would you possibly let us know how, so that if someone else has the problem they can fix it?
