I have 3 bases. One is an bedside night stand and the other two have a piece of glass on them and they are end tables on each side of my sofa.

I have the base and have been looking for something to make a top. Can you tell me the size and what kind of wood and where you got it. Thanks.

I bought a ready to finish aspen 24x36 at Menards. I had a place to put it so I bought the size to fit there. I didn't pretreat....big mistake. It took 9 coats of poly to get it smooth enough for my liking. I love how it turned out. I thought about oak because it would be really pretty, but it was more than double the cost.

My late grandfather was great at repurposing things. I had a small table he had made using the base of a treadle sewing machine and fitted a plywood top on it. My kids used to play with it, but for the life on me, I have no idea what happened to it when we moved.
