Took a chance, hit the jackpot

Several weeks ago I saw an auction on GW that contained a big bunch of mixed loose SM needles and some metal and plastic rings and a package of overall buckles.

Most of the needles were bigger than 15x1s, some smaller. The text said there were some W&W, EldRotary, Eld, marked needles but mostly they were marked with numbers. :D So I decided to take a chance. Then I got distracted and forgot to bid. :mad:
I watched and they relisted it. To keep it in my mind I put a minimum bid on it right then. That moves the listing to a more obvious place in my bookmark system.

When the bidding came up someone put a $1.00 bid on it, probably a shill, then never came back. So I got the whole shebang for under $20.00. :p

My haul was well worth it. I get the needles, wifie gets the hardware. :thumbup:

What I got:
Top row;
>10, Boye #8. No idea in the world what they fit. If anybody knows please let me know.
>22, Boye #2.5. Fits my Kenmore 120-491.

Bottom row;
>4, Davis Long. Fits my Minnesota B
>26, 15x1. Fits oodles of machines
>36, 20x1. Fits my two New Home made machines.
> 1, 127x1. Fits my Singer 9W-7s.

At an average price of a dollar + on all the needles but the 15x1s, I sorta think I made out like a bandit.

yes you made out well as you can use them, unfortunately I am only using 206x13 needles right now and I don't seem to find any good deals on those.

Yeah, I kind of fantasized about some of them too. But, I'm happy with what I got.

I guess the simple answer is I must not have a varied enough collection of machines!

Joe,

You did very well. The Boye 8 or 1x4 are also known as Domestic NT (notched top) for the old Domestic Fiddlebed VS machines and Weed Family Favorite.

Congratulations! I'm happy for you that it came back around. Man I hate it when I forget to bid!

I'm currently watching two sellers to see if they relist something I want. They both ended while we were traveling.

Glad you ended up with lots of needles you can use.

Congrats on your great score! :)

I am glad these went to a home where they can all be appreciated and used.

Joe, are you selling any of the 20X1s? I think that's the size my Leader uses and I only have a few size 16 needles, which I won't sew with. Nice haul!
