Treadle belt pliers

Those of us who have used pliers and ice picks or drills to put a hole through a treadle belt may appreciate these pliers. They also cut the belt. Way cool too and no E.R. visits.

I have two belts to size and poke holes in, neither of which I've tried. What are the chances I could borrow those pliers?

Vintage treadle pliers have been on my wish list for a really long time. I have thought about getting some new ones, but haven't actually ordered one.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

These are a real treasure! I just finished putting a new belt on my treadle and it took soooo long to accomplish. These would have made that job a pleasure instead of a chore.

I haven’t had to change the belt on my treadle for a while but those pliers sure would come in handy. I carefully opened the staple on my old belt, measured the new belt and used my tiniest drill bit to put in two holes. I put the belt in my vice and carefully drilled but it was tricky. I hope my new belt lasts a looooong time.

I sent you a PM.

I thought those pliers were so neat, so I decided to look up what a pair would cost if they were available today. https://www.vintagesingerparts.com/p...ier-tool-punch

And then this is a little bit more reasonable price.

Those pliers are great, I may need to order a pair. I have used the awl my great grandmother and great aunt used. It was in the machine drawer with the other tools. What a pain in the neck. And when you are putting on a new piece of leather you usually have to do it a couple times because it stretches a bit.

I have a 66-1 that came with attachments, including an awl. Now I know why it's in there!

Would be a happy guy to secure a pair of these for sure. I will risk me fingers until such time one comes along. Thanks for showing Leon https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png
