I brought her home from my parent's attic because I couldn't stand seeing her go to the dumpster. She still works but smells kind of funny when I started her up. I don't know if it is old oil or the motor/cord is going. I don't think I'll ever use her but what can you experts tell me about her. I know she is made in Japan.

looks like a Japanese Model 15 clone with good chrome and decals. The funny odor could be dust/dirt/oil burning off, or wire burning. If the machine has two plugs mounted under it, make sure the area around them is clean also.
These machines are great to own and sew with, parts are readily available also.

These type of machines are very cool. I love sewing on my Japanese "Deluxe"

I just bought a 15 clone and I am already in love.

I learned on that machine. Tension was always an issue, but I didn't have a teacher and no internet back then. Sure wish I had her back now. Childhood memories.
