almost two weeks ago, on a sunday morning.
look at the upper portion of the first photo you'l see whats left of a singer it was a 1886 I think ? The shot is taken from a good 25 feet away with the sun facing the camera. we will salvage whats left of it ... The building was a 100+ year old stage stop. was being used as a antique/junk store. as you can see it's a total lose. I could go on and on about what a cool store this was, along with how nice the lady that owns it is.. when I did a preview on the photo's they looked huge, no idea why . this is the first time I've used the sites hosting The 2nd photo is taken from the lower level and the rear of the building . There is more than just that singer in the pile. I can't say at this time what those are. Those are laying at the lower level and about the center of the pile. under all that stuff

I can see the first two photos. They don't show up but in the third i can see a bit of a treadle leg at the center top. What a terrible loss, not only the sewing machine but I am sure it's been horrible for everyone involved and so much was lost.

Fire can really level a building. A sad day for the store owner and I hope no one got hurt.

the fire dept is less than a 1/4 mile away. they were there with in minutes, in the case of this type building there concern is to control the fire from spreading into the rest of the town .. |
all I could spot was that one leg. now I see the flywheel and peddle. oh the store was unique. the interior was period correct for most everything she had . she had it set up to appeal to both male and female junkers. one end was all tools ect that they guys like, the other was all more on the houshold type items. course the machine were in a sewing/ knitting setting.

Can you save the irons? In this case It would be perfectly understandable to make a table, esp if there is any good wood left from the building to make a top.

That's a terrible loss for the owner and your town. My condolences to the owner and your community.

That is so sad, we've got a few places similar, and it would be such a shame to see them go up like that, as they are filled with neat old stuff.

aww, how sad. I bet with lots of time and patience the singer can rise from the ashes. I'm sorry about the fire.
