Viking 3310
 

Does anybody know anything about viking 3310 ? Is it worth 75.00 I will have to clean it and oil it but they said it runs. I was trying to find some info thru google but no luck. Can anyone help with info.



And also just picked up a Singer Touch-n-Sew 758 does anybody have info on this machine also and how much its worth. How old it is?

The 3310 is the Vanessa series of machines and is not highly regarded by vintage Viking lovers. They're prone to certain broken parts that are no longer available. I own 4 vintage Vikings that I've poured many hours into rehabbing. I wouldn't pay that much for the machine, but that's me. I would offer $20-$25 if it's in 100% working condition. And typically sellers will say that it runs, but that doesn't mean it works as it should. The parts that are prone to breakage could go and then you just have a parts machine.


Similarly the "Touch and Throws" have been named as such because they are also not highly regarded. I wouldn't own one. But, again, that's me.

There were two Viking 3310s. The Vanessa was a 3310 and as Candace said not one of their best.
The was also a 33-10 which was heavier than sin. It was very industrial looking and a great machine.

The 3310 is a freearm had a smooth painted surface and frequently in a shade of red . The 33-10 was a flatbed, green color with a crinkled finish.

If it is a 33-10 I would jump on it. If a 3310 I'd pass on it.

I agree with Candace on the Touch and Sew. Those machines were great for high school classes back when, but they have plastic feed dogs which wear flat eventually. They are not worth much in the vintage machine world.

Please try to stay with Singer if you can. More available parts. They are still available and need to be adopted. Friend Joe says stay under 400 with the model numbers. Try sewing machine stores, they sometimes have 301, 221 etc models. Also 15s are good. Sew-Classic.com has parts for them and advice.

Neither machine is worth much, sorry! Twenty bucks on either would be about as much as I'd spend, except that I would not buy either of these. The Viking is not a great machine, not that model, anyhow. The Touch and Swear, as many people call them, (also Touch and Throw), is not a good machine either. I would not spend $75 on that machine. If either of these machines break down, and they will if they have plastic parts, you pretty much have to throw them out. The Touch and Swear is from the 1970s, I think.
