Vindex C machine with cabinet

Saw this on CL. Did some Internet searches but can't find out if this is well liked machine. The cabinet looks nice in photo. Owner said machine is in rough condition as its been in storage unit in AZ heat. Is this good price? Would you pursue it? Internet is swing $50 max but that seems low for cabinet alone. Please advise.

I would think that the Arizona heat would have dried out the cabinet wood. The sewing machine head just might need a lot of oil to make it function. Personally the asking price is a bit high but one to consider if you want to dicker and want a re-furbishing project. Check overall condition of both the cabinet and head, and if it has any accessories such as manual, attachments and shuttle and bobbins.

No pic of the machine. That's too bad. The Arizona dry head does less damage to furniture than the hot/ humid / cool / dry climates else where. The wood swells and contracts less. A really good going over with wax after making sure all the glue is still solid will generally be all it needs.

Ask for a pic of the machine. That way you can judge better if it's worth it.

It almost looks like the cabinet is on the base backwards, since the front apron looks a little low to me. Seems like it would be a little awkward to get your legs under there.

those cabinets are like the White units. The bottom of that panel swings back and up when the machine is lifted.

Pretty cool process.

Are you willing to pay that price? If so then it is worth it. I don't think it is an outrageous price but would want to see what the machine looked like.

The cabinet looks solid at least from the side that is shown.
