Vintage & Antique Machines Exhibit at Our Guild Quilt Show Jan. 2012

Well, I am finally getting around to posting pics of our exhibit at our quilt show. I was really excited when I saw another board member post pics of theirs, so I made the suggestion and everyone agreed it would be a great addition to our show. We had machines from about 5 or 6 members, but I have to admit I had the most with 9. Aren't they fun??

Thanks for posting your photographs. I so enjoyed looking at the vintage machines!

Look at all those pretty machines!!! I had fun looking at your blog seeing all the beautiful quilts, but you were hiding these pretties. I'm so happy that you had a section for vintage machines. It would be fun to have a section for quilt made with vintage machines. Have the quilt along with a picture of the machine or even the machine.
Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing!!!

WOW! Had my face pressed against my screen, checkin them out. THank you so much for posting them. Seen a couple of my machines there, or what mine could look like if I got around and buffed them up.

How fun, all those machines in one place.

I don't know if I'd have spent more time looking at the quilts or machines! Thank you for the photos.

Wonderful idea. A lot of work went into making that display. I especially like the idea that the machines had description cards.

We did type up the manufacturer, year and model of each machine. We had 2 treadles complete there, and I had my 1890 Davis VF sitting on a box, as she doesn't have a treadle base yet. A member of the guild had his little green Bell there, and it was so cute! I'd like to find one of those. Luckily we didn't have any duplicates of models...maybe I should say amazingly! We did have 2 99s, but one was handcrank and one was electric. We drew quite a crowd of men who were oogling and asking tons of questions.

It was so fun putting this exhibit together. We will have more machines next time and the exhibit will be better.

I notice in the last photo that the treadle machine appears to be in a flatside wood treadle cabinet. Am I seeing correctly? If so the cabinet is just like the one I bought last week.

One is my straight leg treadle with my 15 in it. The other is a 1920's treadle with a 66-1.
