Vintage Japanese 15 clones: Just who made them?

There are so many beautiful Singer 15 clones from the post WW2 era out there, which I read came from just a few manufacturers but were painted and badged for different retailers. I don't read however just who these machine manufacturers were. I'd be interested in knowing if they were part of a cooperative group, or well organized separate companies. On a similar note, my New Home model 532 from 1964 (Miss Ivy) is actually labeled as being made by Janome in Japan, the well respected machine maker still in business today. She runs so beautifully, and shows extremely skilled machine work I have to respect the workers who created the old girl. Thanks all. Don
