thanks, I watched it and thought it was fascinating to see how she made a flower design. I think I can do that too.

I'm thinking of testing this out on my Kenmore tomorrow! :D
|
Thanks so much! Will have to give it a try.

I've got two machines with that type of foot mounting system, I plan on seeing what I can do to modify a hopping foot to get it to work. I also have the two spool machine and want to set it up for free motion quilting.

The problem with that creation is that it has no spring action and doesn't hop. It actually looks like it's pressing down on the fabric and not allowing full range of movement. This would make FMQing a larger project very tiring on the arms and shoulders I'd think.

Clever of her! Even without dropping the feed dogs, she is able to FMing.
I don't FM quilt often since I use my Davis NVF for straight-stitch quilting. But when I do FM, I use my Singer 15. I will have to give this a try on my Two Spools. Thanks for posting! |
Why is the person wearing rubber gloves? This isn't brain surgery .... duh.

The gloves are for hanging on to the fabric, that way your fingers don't get so tired. You can also use the garden gloves with the nubby dots on the fingers.

I think that a person could make is smidge shorter, so it just drifts over top of the fabric, not crushing it at all. Leah Day actually modifies her darning feet so they don't hop, spring or squish.
