I went to an antique shop today and they had a "Cinderella" sewing machine for sale. Beautiful scroll work, gold and red. The black finished had some rough edges, no case, just the head, electric motor but no foot control, and no bobbin or bobbin case. I tried to find some info but can't find much of anything and no where were there any hint of getting parts. It did have a tag on it that it had been serviced and worked well. The dealer didn't know anything about the bobbin case, so it was as is. Do you know anything about this machine? It is a small head, making me wonder if it was a child's machine. I didn't buy it, but the price was right, maybe I should have. Thanks for any help you can offer. :)

Do you think that you received a "Blackside" by chance? If so, I have an extra front throat plate. I have a 1941crinkle finish in a bentwood case. I do not use it much because (as Billy once commented)..."it's like moving fabric over sand paper". Singer manufactured the blacksides during 1941 and 1947 and used black metal instead of chrome. Not sure which model you have but would love to see some photos when you get a chance. Judy |

I stopped at a yard sale on the way home today. Turns out, a lot of the stuff came from an antique/secondhand store. They had a beautiful trapezoid cabinet I would have loved to buy, but wanted $125 for it, without even a machine in it. They are moving and said they will have sales every weekend til they get rid of some stuff. I'll keep an eye out and hope that maybe later they might be ready to take WAY LESS (like $50) for the cabinet. She is supposed to have an old singer portable to sell too, but who knows what it is (she didn't!) I left my phone number for them to call me when they unearth it in all their piles of storage...

I have a new girl--picked her up today, but she is still out in the car----
She is a 306K made in GB. Anyone out there have one of those??? I have not read this whole thread, and the search function is not working again for the board. I thought it was an old White or Dressmaker, and got a shock when I opened the case! From now on , I am going to LOOK in those cases---would have missed her.... Just finished milking, so time for some research! And on my 15-91, all I do is flip the lever to FMQ--really handy...now to practice FMQ with the walking foot! It ahs been 27 or 28 years..... |
Billy can you help me out with a date? It is a Antcraft with a serial number of JA3493573. It is a pretty turquoise color. Pictures in a couple of weeks. Thanks Billy for the help once more.
