Hi all I was asked by a person (actually several folks have asked) if we could have a section that would only be for photos of our machines and a brief description of it. You know like the Make, Model, Year (if you know), And serial numbers including the JA and JC numbers if they are Japanese built and have them. This would not be a section for discussion but a place to document the machines that we have in our possession or had in some cases.

We can have the discussion in the VSMS thread with the photos again if you like but here I would like to catalog our machines if we can.

Now I wonder how many pages this will turn out to be?

We are trying to document the machines that our members own or have owned. Just building a data base as such so the quality dosent have to be the absolute best just an example of the machine or decal variation.

I don't know if this one is classed as vintage but I love it: http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/27...425x425Q85.jpg I think it is 1950 - 60s

I also have, in mint condition, a 1939 Singer, will take a pic and post it in the next day or so as Love it, it is a hand controlled one, debating whether to add a motor or not :?:

My two vintage machines are below!

The first is my Nanna's old Bernina 530-2 Record, purchased when she lived in England. She'd learned to sew on her mother's (older) Bernina while growing up in Switzerland and this was her first machine purchased just for her sometimes around 1957-58. She sewed on it every day for almost fifty years. I was so delighted when she gave me her machine! It has several embroidery stitches.

The second is my Singer Featherweight, affectionally named Miss Anise. I bought her at an estate sale and she's the loveliest little machine ever. Cute as a button and sews a beautiful stitch.

My DH and I collect Antique Singer Sewing Machines. I believe we currently have about 28-30. Yesterday, he stopped by the store and said, "Just came across a 1953 Singer model 201 for $35, I need to get some money". It is in a nice cabinet and the cabinet was full of trim, zippers, attachments and thread. Works fine. But we currently have 5 treadles, including a 1861 Wilcox and Gibbs Treadle, 2 301s, 7 Featherweights, 2 201's, 2 Singer Salesmen (miniature cast iron hand cranks 1880s) machines, a few 99's, a couple of 66s, 2 128's, a few model 15's (including one with a coffin lid) a Dressmaker, Janome, 1970 Singer, Kenmore, and a Brothers. We are considering moving out and letting the machines take over. LOL.

I love looking at everyones sewing machines. They are all so gorgeous. We are pretty lucky to be able to own more than one of these beauties. I sometimes wonder how a woman, back then, when these were new, could only choose one machine because they were all so pretty.

Here are a few of mine. These are the machines that are close by so that I could take pics of them.

This is a Singer 128~serial # 10886656~date-1892. This uses a vibrating shuttle rather for a bobbin. I am in the process of cleaning it so some of the pieces are off of it, right now. I bought this machine in a local thrift shop. I don't know what the decals are called but they sure are pretty.

This is my little white FW-221. It arrived yesterday with it's spool pin snapped off :-(, but it came with the cutest little oil can! . I don't know the year it was manufactured but it was probably mid 1960's.

This is a Singer model 66 with the 'Red Eye' or 'Red Head' decals. Serial # G6969592~manufactured in 1919. I have several red eyes and it was my first vintage machine and started the ball rolling for me!

I have a number of vintage machines, but I don't have photos of all of them yet. I'll post them with their info as I photograph them.

This one is a Singer model 27, with 25,000 allotted on January 1, 2010, in Elizabeth, NJ. The serial number is G 22926. It has the pheasant decals. It has not been cleaned yet and the cabinet is currently dismantled because the top was in very bad shape and had to be replaced. I love the gorgeous faceplate.

This is a model 99 handcrank. The serial number is EL 908022, and it was manufactured on November 20, 1956, in Clydebank, Scotland. There were 50,000 machines allotted on that day. I have to get a new bobbin cover for it yet. My kids love to sew on this machine. The faceplate is very geometric and simple, but is still beautiful.

I have several vintage machines...but these are the only two that I have pictures of...

The first is a Pfaff 130 in a maple cabinet...purchased for $5.00 at an estate auction. In perfect running condition! :)

The second is a Featherweight with the table that I purchased at an auction for $110 for both table and machine! She needed a servicing and an oil drip pan when I got her. She's now up and running beautifully! :)

I'm making note of different treadles and cabinets too.
First photo is straight-leg treadle. Second photo is standard treadle. Third photo is standard treadle with cabinet that once had wooden legs and was used for e-machine. I just mounted this cabinet on treadle since the treadle's cabinet was beyond hope.
