Vintage
I have an opportunity to purchase a treadle Pfaff. Has a wooden box type cover. I am told it is from France. Does this have much value. Has bobbins

A treadle Pfaff - if it's what I think it is, it could be quite valuable. BTW - they were built in Germany. Now, it it's just a 130 put into a treadle cabinet (they fit in singer cabinets just fine) then that is a different story.
BTW - I consider "valuable" for a vintage machine to be something worth over $200. It's a relative thing - most are worth less than that. |

As Cathy said it could be a wolf in sheep's clothing and worth almost nothing. OTOH if it were a mother of pearl 1880s transverse shuttle machine in the original cabinet... (have I got your attention Steve?) |
I saw the post first!!!! If it's an old Pfaff treadle, I can get down to Kansas City in a day LOL!!
Not that it's even on my wish list - but an old Pfaff treadle would not be something I'd pass up, unless it was really overpriced. |
This is one I'd love to get

Could you please tell me what the worth of this machine is….Thank you!!

I meant if Susie decided to pass LOL!. I'm in line ahead of Steve.
But since it's not a super early MOP version, Steve's probable not interested. Susie, that is a very pretty machine, It looks like a model 31, early 1900's. Probably bought in France and brought over, as this is not a model that was made for export to the US (according to needlebar). I have no idea what it's worth - they come up so rarely - it all depends on who is wanting it at the time. It's in pretty rough shape, so that does detract. I know what I'd be willing to pay, but sometimes what I want to pay is way, way less than what something will sell for :) Though sometimes it's way less than I end up paying when bidding on an item too - |
So what would you offer?
|
I am not wanting to buy it. A friend wants to sell it. I told her I would ask you ladies
Thank you |
