Vogue sewing machine
 

I have a pretty little vogue machine that had a bent tension assembly. DH fixed it but now we need the large nut and the numbered dial. I believe the vogue is a White clone? Should I look for a parts machine and go for a complete assembly or try ebay for the two missing parts and what assembly am I looking for? Do they go by the type of bobbin? or? Thanks so much for any suggestions. The picture is how she looked when I bought her.:eek:

This looks like a very common clone. Well, I have a few in my shed that I use for parts. You might find that most of them use common parts but I can't tell you for certain. I'd ask someone who's an expert on clones (Grant?)

I'd look on eBay for a similar tension assembly, as finding individual parts will likely be difficult, at best.

The easiest fix it to buy a new tension unit from sew-classic and put it on. You release the set screw and pull out the old tension. Then you put the new tension unit in and tighten down the set screw. You can buy a parts machine as long as it is similar and transplant the tension the same way. You can some times use a part from one tension to another but you can get into whether or not the pin in the center hits the bar like it is suppose to.

I seen a Vogue at the thrift store few months ago for 35.00. it looked in great condition...I did not buy it and am sorry I didn't.

Here is removing the tension from the donor. The machine has a lot of rusted knobs and levers. Not real functional. Somebody jimmied with the pressure foot and the motor and a throat plate/slide plate is already donated. There is rust in the bobbin area, too. Not one I can sell and I have better machines to use. OK so peal Joe off the ceiling. Parts have to come from somewhere don't they? There is a set screw in the side of this machine. I have seen set screws inside the nose on the top or the left but always holding the tension on. Picture is showing where the tension came out and the set screw extended from the holding hole...
