Vogue stitch machine

I found a great vintage Vogue Stitch machine but it is missing the case the bobbin goes in. Any idea if it is worth the $20 to purchase the machine and hope I can get a bobbin case reasonably?

Looks like a good deal to me. The cabinet looks like it is in good shape as well.

You should be able to get a bobbin case at a local sewing machine shop or on eBay for less than $10.

How do you know what kind it takes??

More than likely it is just a bobbin case for a class 15 bobbin. If you could post a picture of the bobbin area, it would help to narrow down the one you need.

I don't have the machine but will probably go see if it's still there tomorrow then I can get a picture. Thanks for the help! I'll be back lol

Jenny might help you figure out what you need.

mamaspark,

That machine is a front loding ZZ. It will require a standard Class 15 bobbin case with the WIDE needle slot. This one: { http://shop.sew-classic.com/Bobbin-C...SCBC1313ZW.htm }
If you use a narrow slot case the needle will impact it as it zigs and zags.
Double checking with Jenny at Sew-Classic is the best idea though.

experience - I'm pretty sure it takes a zz bobbin holder but check with Jenny to be sure. She has other stuff too.

Thank you for the information. I have sent an email to Jenny but she is away. Hopefully she will be back soon and we can chat. Once I have the machine in my hands I will probably have more questions. I hope you guys don't mind helping me out!! = )

Before you place your order, check out the machine and see if it needs anything else like a belt or cord set. Jenny sells belts for 1/2 the price that I can get them locally. She also sells oil, needles, and bobbins...and if you order $65 or more worth of stuff, it's free shipping. No, I have no association with her other than being a satisfied customer.

The manual miriam posted will likely work although a few dials may be different. If that manual doesn't cover everything you need, there's a vintagejapansewingmachines yahoo group with some other manuals. It also appears that there's a door on the top of your machine for cams but, no, I don't know what cams it would take. I'd do a Google Image search for your machine and sometimes you'll find one very similar and occasionally someone will have posted pics including cams.

Good luck.

John

That is a beautiful machine. I would buy it. It probably does take a standard 15 bobbin; I think most of the Japanese models have a generic setup which makes it easy to find parts.

Welcome back Kotter......so good to see you back J Miller. Now I can get serious about figuring out how to post pics and find out what my son brought me last week--well two weeks ago now. A 115/66/127. The number is either G5337155 or G5837155. I haven't taken the time to clean it up enough to read it. I thought I didn't have access to your expertise. Now I do. Now what do I do? Besides sitting my lazy self away from this computer and at a table cleaning up an old collectible sewing machine.

Joe, glad to see your back. Hope you feeling lots better. Getting old is NOT for the weak.
