I made a pilgrimage to the new VSM center and museum on Friday. I knew it was going to be great.

I was stunned. An entire house dedicated to our beloved machines. I'll be sharing more pics over the next few days.

That is very cool. I've heard rumors of one in Michigan and Arizona. I'd like to start one myself. Hands on interactive though. Maybe more of a B&B?

Friar_Tuck 07-29-2018 11:34 AM

That would be a dangerous place to visit!

leonf 07-30-2018 05:52 AM

This is hands on and interactive. Just a few NOS machines are off limits. Luckily they are not for sale...

800 + machines, no room for a bed.

Thank you for sharing photos. Looking forward to more!

Cari's? or the museum?

leonf 07-30-2018 07:50 AM

Museum... I am assuming Cari has a bed. It may have sewing machines on it or under it.

leonf 07-30-2018 07:59 AM

Not just VSMs

Those last few pictures remind me of something...
can't seem to place it.
What could it be?
Oh yeah, my garage!

yikes...

Cari-in-Oly 07-30-2018 02:41 PM

LOL, you guys are funny. There's only two sewing machines in my bedroom(which does have a bed BTW - it's for my mom or the grands, I sleep on the couch), none under the bed, that's where the extra parts for my long arm frame go.

Hmm, I see a new POS Singer in the mix but haven't seen a Brother. Won't be getting airline tix just yet......

Cari

I dunno. It might be kinda nice to see a new-to-me Viking Husq 6000 series machine without needing to have a hair dryer in one hand and a can of Tri-flo in the other...

Rose_P 07-30-2018 06:51 PM

Thank you for sharing the pics. I'll be watching for more. This looks like someone's hobby run amok, but eye candy for us!

leonf 07-31-2018 06:26 AM

Cari, maybe nobody will donate a Brother. I would imagine there were some there, but none stood out.

Drive out to Tulsa, see Macybaby on the way. Read craigslist all across the county. Bring a trailer.. Then buy an inflatable bed and put the bedroom into better use.

Museum operator made this table so one can sew with their friends. Fabulous carpentry and finish. Love the small machines.

Cari

Maybe they only accept machines people get tired of fixing?

Good of you to donate that cat!

leonf 08-01-2018 12:25 PM

Cat didn't look as nice after squishing it through the donation slot.

Steelsewing 08-01-2018 03:34 PM

They didn't have any of those cute little W&G hand cranks in the gift shop, did they?

Cari-in-Oly 08-02-2018 08:11 AM

That looks like the JC Penney Swing N Sew. Japans answer to the Singer Genie/Diana machine.
