We've adopted another hand crank

DH and I went to one of our favorite antique stores and found a new member for our collection.
It's an 1894 Singer 28 with scroll and roses decals that are in pretty good shape. It is missing the needle, shuttle and bobbin, but we got the price down a bit because of missing parts. We haven't been on the hunt since last year - we're kind of running out of room. So we've decided to focus on collecting hand cranks. This one we have named Catherine - an elegant name for an elegant machine! |
Oh, I love that machine. I have also kind of taken to the hand cranks. I found one just last week that was an original made in 1909. The gentleman I bought it from said he got it while he was stationed in England. It has the Victorian decals that are nearly perfect. So, so beautiful.
