What aren't I seeing?

Shopgoodwill had a listing for a lot of Singer sewing machine attachments that just went for $1201. https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/59295743 . What is worth that much?

Ya got me! I have no idea.

I am just starting to learn about vintage machines but if you look at the photo showing two attachments, doesn't the one on the right have a black crinkle finish. I believe they are hard to find. Others with more knowledge will be able to tell us for sure.

That is an original Singer case, they don't show up very often and to have that many fiddly bits in it is amazing. That embroidery attachment is a rare and spendy bit by itself. Kelsie there's no blackside bits in there and they wouldn't drive the price up that much any way. The pinking attachment is crinkle finish, it's normal.

I don't think I would pay that much, but there are several high $$ items when combined could add up.

Without more research, these are some of the things I noticed
Fashion Aids Case - filled
Gauge Presser Foot - don't know if all guides are there
Singercraft Guide,
Pinker attachment ,
Material Gripper,
Needle threader and seam ripper
Buttonholer
Blind Stitch Braider,
Hemstitcher and Picot Edger Attachment, with plate for 101 - not sure that I've seen an actual picture of one- just drawings
Singer Embroidery attachment
Spring Darning Foot.
Original blue bag.

I'd like to know if anyone has the original bag and could give me the dimensions.

Perhaps a missing decimal point? $12.01?

OurWorkbench 10-30-2018 08:10 PM

Check ebay for items listed or if you start with https://singer-featherweight.com/pro...tachments-case and do some exploring around that site, I think you will find several of the things I mentioned. I think even if decimal was moved over to $120.10 the items would be 'worth' more than that.

Is the original walking foot listed? I've seen those go for several hundred dollars

Nostalgia. That ups the price for many hobbyists who aren't actually using the stuff they collect.

Macybaby 10-31-2018 12:52 PM

Based on what is there, I'd think about half that would be more reasonable. There are several higher end items, but not any of the super high end items (like the two thread embroidery attachment).

however I have not paid a lot of attention on eBay for a while, so I might be surprised.
