Hey, Rodney. How've you been? Yeah, it's a nice machine -- one of the first I purchased. My hands are large so the hand wheel is really nice on this one. I've run it only a few times but it's very fast and very powerful.

I think the Model 47 (158.470) is the same machine but in a pink/mauve color.

KenmoreRulesAll -- Wow, yours is beautiful! I usually am drawn to all machines pink but I think I like the styling of this way to much to put it in pink. This color is reminiscence of Detroit Automobiles. Just. So. Classic.

Thanks, yobro. With a few exceptions, Kenmores aren't known for their beauty. This is one of those exceptions. I don't see this model praised very often for its looks and that's what drew me to it, so it's great to read your enthusiasm. A lot of machines made around the same time ('59 - '61) had rounded shapes and this one's crisp corners and streamlined shape is more late '60s (to my eyes). And the clear plastic piece with the Kenmore crown is just the right touch.

It also sews really, really well. I will have to cull my herd at some point and this is one that I'll try to keep.

It seems like the only Kenmores I see are the generic looking white ones of the 70s and later or the old White made ones. I haven't ran across any like the one shown or some of the other less common ones you have.

There are at least three up on eBay which is strange so many all at one time after not seeing them before. By the pricing, the sellers know they are sweeeet.

KenmoreRulesAll, I love this machine for its sleekness and simple elegance. Most I showed this pic to around here said, "ugly" .. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, huh?

I have one you can have...

Ugly? UGLY????!! That is not ugly, that is a beautiful White-made rotary. (I have a 959 -- almost the same machine.) The deco styling, the large, rounded hand wheel and notched clutch, the cream/chrome plates...what's not to love?

The Kenmore Imperial Rotary is even more extreme, with a front light assembly that looks like a motorcycle sidecar. I love machines like these.

Sort of looks like a kitchen mixer. The emblem is placed as if on front quarter panel of an automobile. How does yours sew?

Actually I like that style of White and Kenmore, especially with the bullet shaped cover on the hand wheel. They may not be for everybody but who cares? White came up with some really different designs over the years.
Heres one I found from possumjimandelizabeth.com. I hope they don't mind my borrowing it.
