What brand of machine is this?
I have been looking on SGW and found this, I'm hoping that someone can help me identify it, so I can make a bid decision.
http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem...temID=14533007 I can't remember how to make the picture open up.. |
I think it might be frister and rossmann. google that and see if you find similar ones. I was looking at one online a while back. They may take an unusual needle that is gettable but pricey. (Not sure if I'm remembering correctly)

It looks like this one:

Sheluma, I think you are correct it is a Frister&Rossman. When I look at that needle I can't figure out just that is going on there.
Thank you, Windblown |
That is a TS or transverse shuttle machine. In my opinion, they are better than VS or Vibrating Shuttle Machines.
Looks like a F&R but it could also be a Gritzner, or Anker, or.... These German imports were kind of like the Japanese Singer imports of the 1950's in that they are Singer 12 clones but done in High Arm format. Many were better than the original Singers that they were cloning.. (sound familiar, Singer never learns) You should get that. Because if you do not I just might!!! hehehe Go for it! |

I am SO not qualified to enter an opinion on the electric machines.... Sorry. |
Steve, I usually stick with Singers but some how this one seems to call to me. Plus I love MOP
|
Here's another one. This one says "VERBETERD SINGER" which translates to "improved Singer". There is a name on the arm but I can't make it out ???MANN? That's the first word so it doesn't look like F&R, but I don't know. I think I remember reading that Singer successfully sued all these clone-makers.
