What do I have and what is it worth?

Hi guys! I was doing a bit of research on an antique sewing machine I had found and stumbled onto your site. I know it's a Willcox and Gibbs Industrial with a serial number of L 117000, but from that point on I have now idea. I was wondering if you could possible help me? I would really appreciate it!

You can probably get some info on the machine from ISMACS.net. They have dating and general info on a variety of vintage machines.

For starters, most old machines aren't worth much, unless you can find that one person who wants it.

For information, try http://www.victoriansweatshop.com/. You might get information there or a lead to where you can get info.

bkay - jking1974 already did post there.

As far as worth---see this thread

jking1974 There doesn't seem to be much demand for that particular machine. There were some listed worldwide on ebay

but none sold.

I rather see these old machines given away to someone who appreciates old machines than go to the dump because it isn't worth anything.

As the saying goes -- "don't quit your day job." LOL
